These How To Guides are to help those just beginning to venture into the wonderful and truly addictive world of patchwork and quilting. I will be adding more soon, and well as small projects.
A look at how to use the three pieces of equipment invaluable to quilters, - the rotary cutter, the quilter's ruler and the self-healing mat - all of which ensure accuracy and speed in your quilting.
A perfect project for those who are just starting out in the happy world of
patchwork & quilting.
• See how to construct simple rows of squares, then how to sew these together
while ensuring you match each of your points;
• Also learn how to sew on your border;
• And finally, once you have quilted your lap quilt, how to sew on your binding
to give your creation that professional finish!
A fantastic technique for hand-sewing paper-pieced hexagons
that eliminates the need for unpicking all that tacking!
• Use squares of fabric instead of cutting out all those hexagons;
• Use clips to hold your fabric in place while you tack through the fabric and
not the paper;
• Once you have sewn every edge of your hexagon, just pop out your paper
ready to use again, and leave your tacking in place - no unpicking!!
